신세계인터내셔널 직원은 “휴대폰 소액결제는 신용카드 결제와 유사한 구조이기 덕에 당사자가 계좌로 이체가 된다”고 말했다. LF몰 관계자 역시 “모바일 소액 결제는 다날, ISP/페이북 등으로 이미 결제가 된 부분이기 때문에 현금으로 즉시 지급하고 있다”고 설명하였다.
유00씨가 당한 범죄는 스미싱이다.이 상황은 URL을 메시지로 보내 클릭하게 한 뒤 악성코드를 심는 방식이다.기관이나 지인을 사칭한 문자 메시지와 다같이 웹페이지 주소를 보낸다는 점이 특성이다.이런 경우 개인 금융상식이 빠져나가거나 소액결제 피해를 입을 불안이 크다.
온라인 쇼핑몰에서 핸드폰 소액결제로 주문한 제품에 대한 환불 방법이 오픈마켓과 소셜커머스 등 유통채널에 준순해 차이가 있는 것으로 보여졌다. 오픈마켓은 '포인트'로 환불 해주는 반면 소셜커머스와 대형 온,오프라인몰은 계좌로 '현금' 지급하고 있을 것이다.
